 today, my speech is "i am the part of the green olympics".

"green olympics" is one of the three themes of beijing 2014 olympic games. therefore the beijing government had made a great effort in order to protect the environment, build more "green project", keep the ecological balance, push the recycling economy, and protect the water resource. but if only the government take the action to realize the green olympics in 2014, its not enough. as a beijing high school student, we should play an active role in the actions aimed at the realization of green olympics. so we should start it from ourselves, our family, our friends and other people around us.

 in 2014, in the moscow world trade center, when the former chairman of the international olympic committee, samaranch had said: "beijing, china!" as a beijing citizen, as a chinese, i had a great joy for my city, for my home country from the bottom of my heart! but after the excitement that beijing had been succeed in the race to host the olympic game in 2014. i started to worry about the dusty air, the sandstorm, the polluted rivers and lakes; the streets without any green and whether we could successfully host the olympic games in 2014.

 four years later, today, we can see 229 day blue sky in one year, we can hardly catch a glimpse of the sandstorm, groups of wild duck comes back to shishahai lake in the spring, and all the streets are dressed in green. all these make me deeply believe that beijing will surely succeed in 2014! and all these achievements are not only the result that made by the beijing government, but also by the 14 millions beijing citizens. as one of the 14 millions normal citizens, i am also adding my contribution to our green olympic!

 i used to have a habit, which is to take two longtime showers every day. it was a big waste of water. one day, i saw a piece of news in beijing daily that about the lack of the beijing water resource. its said every year beijing use up about 3.7 billions cubic meter of water. but miyun reservoir only contains 0.77 billions cubic meter of water, and guanting reservoir only contains 0.19 billion cubic meter of water. this shows we are really short of water now! after reading this news, i start to change my habit, and only take one quick shower each day. i have calculated that if everyone economizes one cubic meter of water during they are taking the shower in a month; the beijing citizens will economize 14 million cubic meter of water in only one month! in 2014, as the beijing irrigation apartment reported that since 2014 beijing has succeeded in the application of hosting the olympic game in 2014. beijing government had started 26 programs in order to economize the water resource. after 3 years doing this, these programs have saved 0.437 billions cubic meter of water. its as big as a four-sized huairou reservoir! and now, in my daily life, in my family, we always think about protecting the environment and saving the resource whenever we doing what. the batteries, the aged newspapers, the empty glass bottles and all the recyclable garbage, we will classify them then put them in different trash cans; we make the most use of the nature light and shut off the electrical light conveniently; and when we shopping, we will bring a nylon bag with us instead of plastic bags; during the feast, i do not send any card in order to protect the forest resource; after washing the clothes, we wont dump the used water but use it to flash the toilet… all in all, we should start from every little thing around us to truly realize the "green olympic".

2014年，当前国际奥委会主席萨马兰奇在莫斯科高声宣读：”beijing， china”的时候，作为一个北京人，一个中国人，我发自心底的为我们的祖国，我们的首都感到高兴。但在高兴之余，那灰蒙蒙的天空，那漫天的沙尘暴，那污绿的护城河，那见不到一丝绿色的街道，又使我深为北京能否在2014年成功办好奥运而感到担心。

四年之后的今天，一年之中有了229天湛蓝的天空，那滚滚的黄尘也早已不见，那一群群久违的野鸭也在春天飞回了北京的什刹海，街道也被绿色装点的生机勃勃。这一切不知不觉的变化都在回答着我，北京一定能办好2014年的奥运！而所有这些变化不仅仅是北京市政府的努力，更是在政府领导下的无数北京市民们努力的结果。作为这一千多万普通北京市民的一员，我也在为我们的绿色奥运贡献出自己的一份力量。

i am very proud of living in beijing, the capital of china. every chinese is excited about the result that beijing has succeeded in bidding the 2014 olympics. in 2014, athletes from all over the world will come to beijing. how will be beijing like at that time? let me describe it for you------the environment of beijing will be greatly improved then. green trees will be standing along the roads and streets. flowers will be blossoming on the partition area of the roads. birds will be swimming happily in the green river. all the beautiful scenery will be more than the eye could take in.

i am one of the members of “roots and shoots” group in wen hui middle school. “roots and shoots” is a program about environment and humanitarianism education opened to the youth of all over the world sponsored by jane goodall’s research committee. to welcome the 2014 olympics, our group organized lots of activities on environment protection. in this april, we took part in an activity named “cartridges for dragon recycling”, which is jointly sponsored by “roots and shoots”, “friends of nature” and hp company. the retrieve plan of consume materials aims to decrease the impact of rubbish bury by means of filling or covering to environment by providing simple and environmental protected method to the customers for used printing ink boxes retrieve.

this activity drawn great interests among our schoolmates as it is closely bound up to everyone. all our schoolmates actively took part in this activity and during which we understand that consume material is hard to decompose or even pollutes the environment if it is randomly thrown in the air or buried in the earth. actually many of its components can be retrieved such as plastics, color mixing reagent foam rubber, sponge, carbon powder and many kinds of metals. after retrieving, all these materials can be made into new products like e-wood, retrieved rubber, benches put in the parks and stationery etc. therefore, the amount of consume materials buried can be reduced by implementing the retrieve plan, thus decreasing its contamination to the environment. in only one month, my schoolmates and i have collected over 100 printing ink boxes. those who don’t use consume materials are also actively promoting the advantage of this activity. it is evident that the mindset of environmental protection has deeply embedded in all my schoolmates’ heart. every one of us is doing what we can do to contribute to the 2014 green olympics.

这个活动在同学中的反响很大，因为它与我们息息相关。全校同学都积极参与，大家了解到：耗材如果被弃置在环境中或掩埋，它很难降解，有的还会对环境造成污染。事实上其中的许多成分都可以再回收利用，如：塑料、调色剂、泡沫塑料、海绵、碳粉以及各种金属等等，这些原料加工以后又可以制成新的产品，如：e-木、再循环的塑料、公园长凳子、文具等等。通过耗材回收，可以减少被堆填或掩埋的耗材，从而减少对环境的污染。短暂的一个月内，我和同学们就收集了100多个墨盒。没有使用耗材的同学也都在积极做着宣传工作。可见保护环境的理念已经深入到同学们的心中，每个人都在为保护环境，举办一届绿色奥运尽着自己的一份力量。

正如珍妮·古道尔博士所说：”每一个人都很重要；每一个人都能发挥作用；每一个人都能带来变化。”我还要尽我的力量向身边的人宣传这些理念。我认为每一个人要从身边的小事做起，从自己做起，保护环境，还北京一片绿水蓝天。当2014年奥运会外国友人来到北京的时候，一定会由衷地赞叹：”北京真美呀！”

my name is………….. , for those of you in the assembly that don’t know me, i am in year ………. ( may also say if they are representing the src or other group in the school etc).

i am not sure how many of you realise that today marks a very important worldwide celebration for children. today is universal children’s day. so what, you may say, what does this mean to me, and why should i even bother to listen?

well the answer is very simple, as students in china we live a life of privilege and relative safety compared to children and young people in many other parts of the world. we are very lucky. but this shouldn’t mean that we don’t care about other children and communities around the world less fortunate than ourselves.

i think some classes have been learning about how students just like us in other parts of the world have to struggle to survive. some children cant afford the things we take for granted like food, clothing, safe water and sanitation and having the opportunity to go to school.

today is a day set aside to promote worldwide unity between children and to increase the awareness by all people of the plight of vulnerable children in some parts of the world.

traveling, which is my great hobby, is a joyful and wonderful activities. when i was a little girl, i toured the disneyland and visited the shanghai ocean park. during the traveling, i met a lot of people. i learned lots of things through talking with them. besides, the beautiful natural scenery broadens my eyes, and the local culture and ways of life give me more knowledge, which i cannot simply get from the text book.now i would like to share my traveling stories with you teachers now.

one day, i opened my travel album. i was shocked some photos taken when i was seven years old. what a nice picture! dalongqiu the most famous waterfall in wenzhou, comes down into the lake, which is still and smooth like a mirror. a group of people are boating on the lake, talked and laughed. and i can see the blue sky, the green tree, the colorful flowers, and the paved path....

but things are quite different now. a few days ago, i went there again with my parents. dalongqiu had dried up. the pond water is not as green as before. no longer were the green trees shading the path. i can only see the discarded plastic bottles, waste paper and gum lying around the path. i felt anger at seeing this.

i can not help wondering, although many people like me are so enthusiastic about travel, what impact have we had on the environment?!

why do people treat our environment like that? i think there are two reasons for that: first, some businessmen, in order to get more money, build engineering constructions over mountains endlessly, not caring for our environment. secondly, uncivilized behaviors of the tourists make the pollution problem much worse.

traveling, for me, is a meaningful life experience i really miss the dalongqiu several years ago, but the beautiful scenery went away. it reminds me a song from michael jackson. “heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me.”

today, i still keep in touch with her, and she still tells me how she believes in me. sometimes, i’d think back, and wonder how i could handle all those things if it wasn’t for her encouragement and trust. could i be the person i am today? then, it struck me: what we need has always been trust and love of others; because these things inspire us to do our best, and to live our life to its fullest.

to sum up, i’d like to say to all of you: let us all appreciate trust and love of others and achieve our full potential in our life!

爱与信任

多年的学生生涯让我认识了不少的老师，每一位老师都不一样。但最让我无法忘怀的是我在西雅图所上的初中里的一位华裔双语老师——何老师。这位老师对我有特殊的意义，因为她给我的不是课堂上能收获的东西。

我刚到那所初中的第一个学期，可谓举步维艰。当时我是从一所双语学校转入那所公立普通学校的。那时，我刚到美国两个月，英语差到无法与人沟通。在双语学校中的各科平均成绩在c以下。就在我对学习英语快要失去信心的时候，在学校中几个星期的时间却让我与何老师成为了朋友。在我灰心泄气的时候，何老师对我说，她非常相信我的能力，一切都会好起来的。她说她觉得我们很相似，我有那种克服困难的能力，更不要说学英语这个问题了。在她的鼓舞下，我找到了努力的欲望。结果，我验证了她所说的话。学期末，我的平均成绩上升到了3.8。

直到今天，我还与何老师保持联络，她也还会告诉我她是多么的相信我的能力。有的时候，当我回想起往事时，我会想：如果没有这位老师在我身后鼓励我，并且固执地一再告诉我我一定能行，今天的我，还会是这个样子吗?面对种种困难，我自己会一直有勇气去面对吗?一次次的回想，我终于发现了：原来我们每个人都需要爱与信任。就有了自信，因为有了爱与信任，我们就会尽最大的努力，活出我们的“真我风采”。

i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 2014 olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.

“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not?? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 2014, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.

now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

however, i have the absolute opposite idea, men can do something that women can’t accomplishment and so do women. men and women are born equal, so they should have equal with the responsibility and rights, they both get the genes from their ancestors. the genes are the same, so women should be same talent as men. furthermore, from time immemorial, there have been two sex groups, namely, men and women. they should play the same important role in all human activities. our human society could definitely not have existed or advanced without either of them. if women are given enough education and chances they can work side by side with men at any place of the world not only in research institutions, but in government bodies and other organizations as well.

all men and women are created equal and god has given both men and women certain unalienable rights which no state or ruler can take away from them.

正文第一篇：中学生英语演讲短文hi everyone

my name is………….. , for those of you in the assembly that don’t know me, i am in year ………. ( may also say if they are representing the src or other group in the school etc).

i am not sure how many of you realise that today marks a very important worldwide celebration for children. today is universal children’s day. so what, you may say, what does this mean to me, and why should i even bother to listen?

well the answer is very simple, as students in china we live a life of privilege and relative safety compared to children and young people in many other parts of the world. we are very lucky. but this shouldn’t mean that we don’t care about other children and communities around the world less fortunate than ourselves.

i think some classes have been learning about how students just like us in other parts of the world have to struggle to survive. some children cant afford the things we take for granted like food, clothing, safe water and sanitation and having the opportunity to go to school.

today is a day set aside to promote worldwide unity between children and to increase the awareness by all people of the plight of vulnerable children in some parts of the world.

in nsw, we are calling our contribution to universal children’s day, unicef day for change. as part of this day, our school is doing..(brief description of activity).

on behalf of the students and staff who have put time into planning this activity, i would like to thank you in advance for your support.

traveling, which is my great hobby, is a joyful and wonderful activities. when i was a little girl, i toured the disneyland and visited the shanghai ocean park. during the traveling, i met a lot of people. i learned lots of things through talking with them. besides, the beautiful natural scenery broadens my eyes, and the local culture and ways of life give me more knowledge, which i cannot simply get from the text book.now i would like to share my traveling stories with you teachers now.

one day, i opened my travel album. i was shocked some photos taken when i was seven years old. what a nice picture! dalongqiu the most famous waterfall in wenzhou, comes down into the lake, which is still and smooth like a mirror. a group of people are boating on the lake, talked and laughed. and i can see the blue sky, the green tree, the colorful flowers, and the paved path....

but things are quite diffe(更多请关注：www.91exam.org)rent now. a few days ago, i went there again with my parents. dalongqiu had dried up. the pond water is not as green as before. no longer were the green trees shading the path. i can only see the discarded plastic bottles, waste paper and gum lying around the path. i felt anger at seeing this.

i can not help wondering, although many people like me are so enthusiastic about travel, what impact have we had on the environment?!

why do people treat our environment like that? i think there are two reasons for that: first, some businessmen, in order to get more money, build engineering constructions over mountains endlessly, not caring for our environment. secondly, uncivilized behaviors of the tourists make the pollution problem much worse.

traveling, for me, is a meaningful life experience i really miss the dalongqiu several years ago, but the beautiful scenery went away. it reminds me a song from michael jackson. “heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me.”

good evening, everyone!

throughout my years of being a student, i’ve had many teachers. none of them are the same, but the one that i’ll never forget and will always miss is my chinese bilingual teacher in the middle school i attended in seattle, ms. ho. she was a skinny, but stylish lady in her 50s. she was different from all the other teachers because she gave me something unforgettable.

ms. ho and i became friends right in the first semester i was in that middle school. at the same time, i was having a really hard time with my subjects. since i had just transferred from a bilingual school, where i had stayed for two months after arriving in the us, my english was horrible; my average grade was below c. i almost thought it impossible to learn english. then, one day she told me she strongly believed that i was capable of controlling my life, and i would be just fine. she said that she found we were much alike: both were stubborn, kind-hearted and a little bit simple-minded. she believed that i had the quality of becoming wise. she even said that she didn’t have any worries about me, about my not learning english. with her encouragement, i found the strength within myself and began to desire to work even harder. as a result, i soon proved her right, and at the end of the semester, i got a 3.8 average grade.

today, i still keep in touch with her, and she still tells me how she believes in me. sometimes, i’d think back, and wonder how i could handle all those things if it wasn’t for her encouragement and trust. could i be the person i am today? then, it struck me: what we need has always been trust and love of others; because these things inspire us to do our best, and to live our life to its fullest.

to sum up, i’d like to say to all of you: let us all appreciate trust and love of others and achieve our full potential in our life!

爱与信任

多年的学生生涯让我认识了不少的老师，每一位老师都不一样。但最让我无法忘怀的是我在西雅图所上的初中里的一位华裔双语老师——何老师。这位老师对我有特殊的意义，因为她给我的不是课堂上能收获的东西。

我刚到那所初中的第一个学期，可谓举步维艰。当时我是从一所双语学校转入那所公立普通学校的。那时，我刚到美国两个月，英语差到无法与人沟通。在双语学校中的各科平均成绩在c以下。就在我对学习英语快要失去信心的时候，在学校中几个星期的时间却让我与何老师成为了朋友。在我灰心泄气的时候，何老师对我说，她非常相信我的能力，一切都会好起来的。她说她觉得我们很相似，我有那种克服困难的能力，更不要说学英语这个问题了。在她的鼓舞下，我找到了努力的欲望。结果，我验证了她所说的话。学期末，我的平均成绩上升到了3.8。

直到今天，我还与何老师保持联络，她也还会告诉我她是多么的相信我的能力。有的时候，当我回想起往事时，我会想：如果没有这位老师在我身后鼓励我，并且固执地一再告诉我我一定能行，今天的我，还会是这个样子吗?面对种种困难，我自己会一直有勇气去面对吗?一次次的回想，我终于发现了：原来我们每个人都需要爱与信任。就有了自信，因为有了爱与信任，我们就会尽最大的努力，活出我们的“真我风采”。

最后，我想对大家说：让我们感激所得到的爱与信任，发挥出我们生命中最大的潜力吧!

第五篇：中学生英语演讲比赛稿the dream came true

i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 2014 olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.

i’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high. i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite. i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track. it was horrible. when i started to run, i was simply out of breath. and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive. it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did.

well, something happened and changed the situation. we won the right of holding the olympic games in 2014. after that, sports became a kind of game in campus. and there are many sports clubs in school. one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.

“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not?? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 2014, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.

now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.
