i am glad to be here. my topic today is:
reuse, recycle, and reduce.
as we all know, with the development of our
economy, we are using up our resources and at the same time our environment is
badly polluted. as environmental protection volunteers, what shall we do? my
answer is reuse “, recycle, and reduce .” all of us should
keep these words in mind and take actions to protect our environment.
wherever we are, at home , at school, we
all can put it into practice. for example, when we use paper, we’d
better use both sides of it instead of only one side. day by day, we will
reduce the amount of paper we need. that means we will protect many big trees
from being cut down. what’s more, when we deal with rubbish, we
should learn to separate it, because some of it can be recycled. in this way,
we can save our resources and reduce pollution around us.
above all, it is time for all of us to
protect our environment. i believe as long as we try to reuse, recycle, and
reduce things we need, we will make a better world for you and for me. thank
you.

123123nature--overpopulation 环保英语演讲稿
what is nature? it’s everything that exists
in the world independently of people, such as pants and animals, earth and
rocks, and the weather.
now more and more people are focusing on
the nature. it is no doubt that the nature is important to every human being.
no nature, no life. because of the supplies of the nature, we have lived
happily for a long time. and we started to gain every thing available from the
nature. and this lasted so long a time. today, people have discovered that the
nature around is getting worse and worse.
what is threatening the nature? air and
water pollution, overharvesting of plant and animal species, overpopulation and
so on. overpopulation is the biggest source of pollution. let’s take
overpopulation as an example.
what does overpopulation feel like? when we
move slowly through the city in a tazi. when we enter a crowded slum district.
when the temperature is high and when the air is t
hick with dust and smoke. the streets are
crowded with people. the streets seem alive with people. people eating. people
washing. people talking. people sleeping. people visiting each other, arguing
and screaming. people relieving themselves. people pushing their hands through
the taxi windows, begging. people leading animals. people, people, people,
people. as we drive slowly through the crowd, sounding the taxi’s horn, the
dust, heat, noise and cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! i admit,
frightening.
to the nature, overpopulation is a big
problem. more people, more pollution. and the big population is threatening the
nature every second.
the rapid rise in world population is not
creating problems only for the developing countries. the whole world faces the
problem that raw materials are being used up at an increasing rate and food
production can not keep up with the population increase. people in rich
countries make the heaviest demands on the world’s resources, its food, fuel
and
land, and cause the most pollution. a baby
born in the united states will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the world’s
resources than a baby born in india. unless all the countries of the world take
united action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and more
people fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the
future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.for most of the developing
countries, it is a good idea to control the population growth. for example,
china has carried out birth control for years. and this plan has a great effect
on the world population.
if the population continues to increase, if
the air and water continue to be polluted, if we don’t do something to protect
wild-plant and wildlife species will be declining. species and biological
communities have difficulty adapting to change. economic opportunities and the
quality of life of future generations are also put at risk. by protecting
nature, we protect ourselves.
let’s unite together, hand in hand we stand
all across the land.
we can make this world in which to live.
hand in hand. control the population growth. take good care of our nature.

it’s our duty to keep our planet clean.
so,please don’t pollute.

saving the earth
the population of the earth is increasing
very fast. humans must make the earth support the increasing population.this
has made it necessary for agriculture and industry to develop rapidly. such a
rapid development
produces more and more waste, which goes
into the water, the soil and the air.some of it is made harmless. however,
where there is too much of it, the poisonous waste may do great harm to the
things around the people.
when farmers add fertilizer to the soil to
make plants grow better, or use poison to kill pests, poison is sent into the
air, the water and the soil. when birds, fish and people eat the grain, drink
the water or breath the air, harm will be done to their health.
the air in big cities is often made very
dirty by cars and factories. millions of tons of waste and poisonous gases are
sent into the air with the smoke. in some places, little is done to make the
smoke clean before it goes into the air.
?fortunately, people are beginning to
realize just how serious
the whole situation is. in many countries,
laws have been made to stop factories from sending out poisonous gases.reduce
the use of single serving packages/ containers/ chopsticksthe overuse of
natural resources
?recycle natural resources
?save and treasure our resources

animals need protecting. do you love animals? i do! they are not only natural
resources but also our friends. people have been killing or using them all
through our history. but we are sad to find many kinds of animals have
disappeared from the earth forever. and hundreds more have become endangered
animals, such as tigers and pandas.
actually, we should care about them,
because we need animals, and once they are gone, there will never be any more.
animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. every animal has its place
in the balance of nature. destroying one kind of animal can cause some
problems. for example, when farmers kill large numbers of snakes, the farmers’
corn and grain will be destroyed by rats and mice. why? because snakes feed on
rats and mice. less snakes, more rats
luckily, more people are working hard to
help save the animals. some groups have been raising money to make people aware
of the problem. some governments have passed laws to protect
animals in danger from being killed.
hopefully, the number of some animals in danger is growing.

good morning/afternoon ladies and

i am happy to have a chance to be here. my

as we all know, water is very important to
plants and animals as well as to our human beings. as the world population is
growing rapidly day by day, more fresh water is needed to feed such a big

animals . what’s worse, a great amount of water is
over-used in our daily life. only quite limited fresh water resource is
available to human beings. so it’s high time for us human beings to take quick
action to protect water resource. stop pollution and save water, otherwise, we
cannot survive on the earth.
fortunately, it isn’t too late to correct
our mistakes. not only should we protect drinking-water and stop polluting it,
but also make full use of it. people are coming to realize the importance of
water and try their best to improve the situation. laws have been made to deal
with water pollution. we do hope the river will be clean and the sky will be

第五篇:关于低碳环保的英语演讲稿
以下给大家分享的是关于关于低碳环保的英语演讲稿,欢迎大家阅读。
“low-carbon” is one of
the most popular buzz-words in this year. not only china but all countries
focus on the topic of “low-carbon”.
here, i’d like to share my own
experience abroad with you. several years ago, i was very lucky to have an
opportunity to live in the australia about half a month. during that time, not
only did i enjoy the beautiful natural scenery there, but also i appreciated
the people’s active way of protecting their environment. now,
whenever the environment protection is mentioned, the beautiful scenery of
australia will arise in my mind, white clouds flying across the blue sky, green
grassplot sprinkled with colorful flowers and lovely squirrels playing happily
among the trees.
as a citizen of china, if everyone can
actively protect the environment in our daily life and if we would like to
reduce our carbon footprint, the scenery of blue sky, green grass and lovely
animals in australia will appear in china, even in hefei.
but i totally support the view, that is to
say, emotion without action is irrelevant! do you unplug electronics after you
use them? do you switch off everything before you go to sleep? do you adjust
your tv screen a bit dimmer to save energy? do you re-use water for different
activities around the house? each of these seemingly insignificant adjustments
in your daily life can make a difference in saving the environment of tomorrow.
we all know that nothing is more
comfortable than sitting in the warmth of a hearted car while it’s
snowing and hailing outside in the freezing cold…but with global
warming and even global cooling becoming more pressing by the day, not to
mention your own health, take a walk ,ride a bike ,reduce your carbon footprint
on the environment .it is said that tiny streams can be combined into a vast
ocean, small trees can be an immense forest, and every little makes a mickle.
“low-carbon” is not
just a buzz-word but a goal that people from all over the world wanna get. so,
reduce carbon footprint! reduce damage! save energy! save the world!
about 4700 years ago , our ancestor huangdi created a new
nation,in eastern asia, from the qin unification to therevolution led by sun
yat-sen in 1911,it has appeared a total of 83 chinese dynasties。
1949, i think it is a special year that the
people could never forget。japan and germany have announced failure to the world. so i have
questions.
butin 5,000 years, what makes china change,
in1945、what made the fascist fail
inthe long time of the war, what supported the people to fight
the dark。i thinkthe
answer is a belief ,a power which named freedom, freedom is a spiritual called hope, is a free spirit called
resistance. but today,i want to know what the meaning it is for our young people?
eighty years ago, someone taught young:
" sacrificing your personal freedom is to seek free for your
country!"but then,a person mrhu shih had told them: " fighting your personal
freedom is the national freedom struggle!, fighting foryour free personality, is the free for the country!
"but today, wehave forget it。when we play basketball in the school yard, when we see a film at home, what do
you think?, or“we are
still young?”"there
is have more time"ifso,we have given up the chance to fight freedom for yourself。
a film 《a brave heart》
william wallace said: fight and you may
die, run and you’ll live. at least a while. and dying in your beds many years
from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from now to that for one
chance, just one chance to come back here and tell your enemies that they can
take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom?!as we are young ,i think the world is a big stage, wetakethe stage, wemust tryourbest to show us no
matter whathappened。yes, everyonewill die, but not everyone really lives. do you really
live, oryou will die alone in the end of your life. so now, please don’t wait, please don’t waste the valuable time.
please fight for your dream, please order
your ideals, and from the bottom of your heart , please cry out
"freedom".
chairman mao has written, “so many deeds
cry out to be done, and always urgently; the world rolls on, time presses. ten
thousand years are too long, seize the day, seize the hour!”
this is the hour, this is the day for our
two peoples to rise to the heights of greatness which can build a new and a
better world.
in that spirit, i ask all of you present
to join me in raising your glasses to chairman mao, to prime minister zhou, and
to the friendship of the chinese and american people which can lead to
friendship and peace for all people in the world.
--(speech by president nixon of the united
states at welcoming banquet 21 february, 1972)
my friends, allow me to quote a
traditional famous chinese poem as my end. i think we can further and better
understand that our parents love us warmly and deeply like that of a spring.
now i will recite the poem:
the thread in mother’s hand─
a gown for parting son.
sewn stitch by stitch, alas!
for fear of cold he’ll stand.
such kindness of warm sun
can’t be repaid by grass.
may every one of us respect
and love our parents!
may our society be full of love!
thank you all!
the last cause of this disobedient spirit
in the colonies is hardly less powerful than the rest, as it is not merely
moral, but laid deep in the natural constitution of things. three thousand
miles of ocean lie between you and them. no contrivance can prevent the effect
of this distance in weakening government. seas roll and months pass between the
order and the execution; and the want of a speedy explanation of a single point
is enough to defeat the whole system. you have, indeed, “wingled ministers” of
vengence, who carry your bolts in their pouches to the remotes verge of the
sea. but there a power steps in that limits the arrogance of raging passion and
furious elements, and says: “so far shalt though go, and no farther.”
there is saying that about the sun which
makes us forget his spots, and when we think of general grant our pulses
quicken and his grammar vanishes; we only remember that this is the simple
soldier, who, all in taught of the silken phrase makers, linked words together
with an art surpassing the art of the schools and put into them a something
which will still bring to american ears, as long as america shall last, the
roll of his vanished drums and the tread of his marching hosts. what do we care
for grammar when we think of those thunderous phrases; “unconditional and
immediate surrender”, “i propose to move immediately upon your words”, “i
propose to fight it out on this line if it takes all summer”. mr arnold would
doubtless claim that that last phrase is not strictly grammatical, and yet it did
certainly make up this nation as a hundred million tons of a no.1, fourth
proof, hard-boilded, hidebound grammar from another mouth could not have done.
and finally we have that gentler phrase, that one which shows you another true
side of the man, shows you that in his soldier heart there was room for other
than glory war mottoes and his tongue the gift to fitfully phrase them─”let us
have peace”.
to summarize what i have said: aim for
the highest, never enter a bar room; do not touch liquor, or if at all only at
meals; never speculate; never indorse beyond your surplus cash fund make the
firm’s interest yours; break orders always to save owners; concentrate; put all
your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket; expenditure always within
revenue; lastly be not impatient, for, as emerson says, “no one can cheat you
out of ultimate success but yourselves”.
fly then to arms: let a holy rage animate
you in the fight, and let the christian world resound with these words of the
prophet, “cursed be he who does not stain his sword with blood!” if the calls
you to the defense of his heritage think not that his legions angels or breathe
one word and all his enemies would crumble away into dust? but god has
considered the sons of men, to open for them the road to his mercy. his
goodness has caused to dawn for you a day of safety by calling on you to avenge
his glory and his name.
christian warriors, he who gave his life
for you, today demands yours in return. these are combats worthy of you, combat
in which it is glorious to conquer and advantageous to die. illustrious
knights, generous defenders of the cross, remember the examples of your fathers
who conquered jersusale, and whose names are inscribed in heaven; abandon then
the things that perish, to gather unfading palms, and conquer a kingdom which
has no end.
and love, young men, loves and venerates
the ideal. the ideal is the word of god. high above every country, high above
humanity, is the country of spirit, the city of the soul, in which all are
brethren who believe in the inviolability of thought and in the dignity of our
immortal soul; and the baptism of this fraternity is martyrdom. from that high
sphere spring the principles, which alone can redeem the peoples. arise from
the sake of these, and not from impatience of suffering or dread of evil,
anger, pride, ambition, and the desire of material prosperity are arms common
alike to the peoples and their oppressors, and even should you conquer with
these today, you would fall again tomorrow, but principles belong to the peoples
alone and their oppressors can find no arms to oppose them. adore enthusiasm,
the dreams of the virgin soul, and the visions of early youth, for they are a
perfume of paradise, which the soul retains in issuing from the hands of its
creator. respect above all things your conscience; have upon our lips the truth
implanted by god in your hearts, and, while laboring in harmony, even with
those who differ from you, in all that tends to the emancipation of our soil,
yet ever bear your own banner erect and boldly promulgate your own faith.
such words, young men, would the martyrs
of cosines have spoken, had they been living amongst you; and here, where it
may be that, invoked by our love, their holy spirits hover near us, i call upon
you to gather them up in your hearts and to make of them a treasure amid the
storms that yet threaten you; storms which, with the name of our martyrs on
your lips and their faith in your hearts, you will overcome.
at a time like this, scorching iron, not
convincing argument, is needed. o! had i the ability, and could i stream of
biting ridicule, blasting reproach, withering sarcasm, and stern rebuke. for it
is not light that is needed, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but
thunder. we need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake. the feeling of
the nation must be quicken; the conscience of the nation must be aroused; the
propriety of the nation must be started; the hypocrisy of the nation must be
exposed; and its crimes against god and men must be proclaimed and denounced.
what, to the american slave, is your
fourth of july? i answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days
in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant
victim. to him, your celebration is a shame; you boasted liberty, an unholy
license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are
empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants, brass-fronted impudence;
your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns,
your sermons and thanks-givings, with all your religious parade and solemnity,
are to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy─a thin veil
to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. there is not a
nation of savages. there is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more
shocking and bloody than are the people of the united states at this very hour.
go, where you may, search where you will
roam through all the monarchies and despotism of the old world, travel through
south america, search out every abuse, and when you have found the last, lay
your facts by the side of the everyday practices of this nation, and you will
say with me that, for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, america
reigns without a rival.

desperate housewives is an america tv
series. i like watching it. the story is about four women. it tells the
experience between them, especially their family and friendship. they all have
advantages and disadvantages. in the growing up, they gain and lose a lot as
well as learn much. they become mature at last. but the most important thing
that i think i need to learn(91考试网-范文:wWW.91exam.org) from them is keeping an optimistic mind, be
kind-hearted and treasure everything we own all the time. they have desperate
once, but they live in the sunshine finally. maybe this is life.
everyone is shy when they are young, some
people shy because they think they are not good enough, so they are not
confident, they will low their heads before others. we call this emotion
self-abasement, most people suffer such emotion, we need to conquer it. for me,
i was not confident before, i always think that other guys do every thing
better than me, until someday, i watch a book. the book says how to conquer self-abasement,
i learn that the reason why people feel not confident, it is because they
haven’t found their advantages. the book tells that everyone is good
at something, we are wrong to compare other people’s advantages with
our disadvantages. after i read the book, i understand why i not confident, i
should never compare with others, i also have my merit, i should be proud of
myself. let’s raise our heads and be confident.
courage is very important. everyone needs
it. we will meet many difficulties in our life and sometimes we will fail, but
we can’t lose courage. if we lose courage, we can’t do
anything, because we don’t dare to do anything; we are afraid of
failure. this is my chinese teacher me in the first class. i agree with him.
for example, we don’t have the courage to hands up to say our answer,
how can we know we are right or wrong. i will remember his word forever,”
never lose courage .”

i’m told that teachers have a high income. with the high income, i
can open a training school to help the children in poor families with their

will have more free time to relax myself. more importantly, teachers are angels
to students, who can pass on the knowledge to students as well as help them
develop their hobbies and interests. i can’t imagine how happy i will
feel when i see my students become elites.
in order to be a qualified teacher, i
should read more books to acquire more knowledge, and train my patience and
improve my communication and handwriting abilities.
just as me, i always chattered to my young
sister to travel instead of working in part-time. but she is always begrudging
that i have a full-time job and can financially support myself.
actually, we are the same to look for
others’ happiness.
during the college, we live relaxed,
simple. in middle ages we are experienced, distinct. in old ages we are
tolerant, satisfied.
now we are confused, hesitated. not young
enough to depend on families, not old enough to control our life.
a friend who graduated from a famous
university works for a famous company. this is really the life i wish to have.
but i always ignored his uneasy and tired working situation.
it's so bad that i focus on
others’ achievements. this is really a waste of life.
how about you? choosing to be the supporter
in other people’s life, or being a leading actor in your life?
do you know helen keller? yes, the author
of the book “three days to see”.
“i thank god for my handicaps, for, through
them, i have found myself, my work, and my god.” helen keller’ words always resound in my mind.
though she is handicapped, she never complains. always holding a grateful
heart, she finally becomes achievable. and now i will tell you a real story
about a boy in my class, he is just like helen keller.
the boy is namedtim. he is very clever, but unfortunately he wasborn with
handicap. being unable to walk steadily, speak clearly or write easily, he has
difficulty in managing his life let alone studies. therefore, he has to suffer
from the society’s
discrimination, and he has to take more pains to catch up with his fellows. but
he always wears a big sweet smile and is friendly to everybody. when i asked
him what made him so happily everyday, he said the secret was simple ----he
thanked that his parents never abandoned him, he thanked his teachers’ special care and encouragement, he thanked his classmates’ respect and help. now i know(更多精彩文章请关注好范文网WWW.91exam.org) all these gratitude have given him strong power to
move forward, forward and forward.
? at the parents’ meeting, his father gave us a deeply moving
speech . he said:“ i knew the fact that he
was not a healthy baby when he was born. at that time, i was overwhelmed with
sadness, fear, and even anger. i complained to the god “why me ?” when he was
at the age of school, we went many schools, but we were turned down, when i was
almost despaired, it was this school that accepted us. here i am grateful that
this school gives my son a chance to acquire knowledge. and i am grateful that
all the teachers and students give my son special care and love. l but the
person to whom i’m most
grateful is my son, and i’m grateful that god has chosen me to be his father.” as tears
dropped down from the man, all the parents choked with sobs.
when life is good, gratitude is easy. but
the boy and his father teach me when we are experiencing hard times and
misfortunes, there is still a chance to find something to be grateful.
i cherish the belief that there is power
and healing in gratitude.
so just learn to appreciate!learn to appreciate; we will become
stronger, wiser, and happier,
congratulations, mr. hoffman, on your
promotion to the managing director of the personnel department. under your
directorship, i am sure the department will grow even stronger and more closely
united.
also, i want to take this opportunity to
thank you for being our section director. needless to say, you have always been
a great boss, and i’m sure you will make even a greater director in the
personnel department.
2.为对同事的升迁
i want to say congratulations to you, jim,
for your promotion to sales manager. you have been a great colleague as well as
a good friend. and i am proud of you.
good luck, jim, and come drop by our office
any time.

first of all, i want to thank you all for
coming to this party. i have thrown this party, because i wanted to thank you
all for being kind to me while i have been here.
looking back, it seems like a very short
five years living here and working together with you. my wife and i still
remember the first day we arrived in los angeles, and every thing looked so
huge, compared with things in taipei. the first several months were a difficult
time, but we tried very hard to adapt ourselves to the new environment, new
life style, and a new place of work. there were times of disappointment, anger,
and humiliation, and there were also times of joy, excitement, and happiness,
through them all, you have always been with us to share the sorrow and
happiness, and we are deeply grateful to you for that.
millions of thanks to you all, and don’t
forget to finish your dinner before it gets cold.

hi everyone
my name is………….. , for those of you in the
assembly that don’t know me, i
am in year ………. ( may also say if they are representing the src or other group
in the school etc).
i am not sure how many of you realise that
today marks a very important worldwide celebration for children. today is
universal children’s day. so what, you may say, what does this mean to me, and why
should i even bother to listen?
well the answer is very simple, as students
in china we live a life of privilege and relative safety compared to children
and young people in many other parts of the world. we are very lucky. but this
shouldn’t mean that
we don’t care about
other children and communities around the world less fortunate than ourselves.
i think some classes have been learning
about how students just like us in other parts of the world have to struggle to
survive. some children cant afford the things we take for granted like food,
clothing, safe water and sanitation and having the opportunity to go to school.
today is a day set aside to promote
worldwide unity between children and to increase the awareness by all people of
the plight of vulnerable children in some parts of the world.
in nsw, we are calling our contribution to
universal children’s day, unicef day for change. as part of this day, our
school is doing..(brief description of activity).
on behalf of the students and staff who
have put time into planning this activity, i would like to thank you in advance
for your support.
thank you

the old cat
an old woman had a cat. the cat was very
old; she could not run quickly, and she could not bite, because she was so old.
one day the old cat saw a mouse; she jumped and caught the mouse. but she could
not bite it; so the mouse got out of her mouth and ran away, because the cat
could not bite it.
then the old woman became very angry
because the cat had not killed the mouse. she began to hit the cat. the cat said,
"do not hit your old servant. i have worked for you for many years,
and i would work for you still, but i am too old. do not be unkind to the old,
but remember what good work the old did when they were young."
a man was going to the house of some rich
person. as he went along the road, he saw a box of good apples at the side of
the road. he said, "i do not want to eat those apples; for the rich
man will give me much food; he will give me very nice food to eat."
then he took the apples and threw them away into the dust.
he went on and came to a river. the river
had become very big; so he could not go over it. he waited for some time; then
he said, "i cannot go to the rich man’s house today, for i cannot get
over the river."
he began to go home. he had eaten no food
that day. he began to want food. he came to the apples, and he was glad to take
them out of the dust and eat them.
do not throw good things away; you may be
glad to have them at some other time.
once there were two mice. they were
friends. one mouse lived in the country; the other mouse lived in the city.
after many years the country mouse saw the city mouse; he said, "do
come and see me at my house in the country." so the city mouse went.
the city mouse said, "this food is not good, and your house is not
good. why do you live in a hole in the field? you should come and live in the
city. you would live in a nice house made of stone. you would have nice food to
eat. you must come and see me at my house in the city."
the country mouse went to the house of the
city mouse. it was a very good house. nice food was set ready for them to eat.
but just as they began to eat they heard a great noise. the city mouse cried,
" run! run! the cat is
coming!" they ran away quickly and
hid.
after some time they came out. when they
came out, the country mouse said, "i do not like living in the city. i
like living in my hole in the field. for it is nicer to be poor and happy, than
to be rich and afraid."
