what is real beauty?

it is human nature that all of us should be fond of beauty. everybody was born with a heart for beauty.

today in china, with the rising of our living standard, people’s requirement of beauty has been heightened accordingly. some people spare no money or energy on beautiful clothes, fashionable hair styles, the decoration of their houses and even the improvement of their looks. but it seems to me,all

these are more or less confined to the beauty in appearance,or rather, the outward beauty.

in my opinion,we shouldn’t only pay attention to beautiful appearance and neglect the beautification of the mind and what we are after should be the perfect unity of the outward beauty and the inner beauty. as we all know,so far as objects and animals are concerned, there is only beautiful appearance to be mentioned, but to us humanbeings, although the outward beauty really matters, the inner beauty is much more important. this was confirmed by a famous russian writer in words much like this: “a person is

not lovely for being beautiful but beautiful for being lovely. “

here, i’d like to quote two typical instances and i’m sure, my dear friends, from them you’ll find out what real beauty is.

recently i learned from the radio an unpleasant incident about a well known singer. she is very charming with a sweet beautiful voice and very famous for singing the song.”devotion of love”. not long ago,she was invited to zhejiang province to give performance. the moment she was to appear on the stage, she suddenly asked for more reward. worse still, after her request was satisfied, she didn’t begin to sing at once. instead, she took her time to count all the money piece by piece. thus she kept the audience waiting for half an hour. so when she at last showed up and started to sing “devotion of love”,a man rose up from his seat and shouted at her,”you don’t have any devotion of love. you are not qualified to sing this song ! “hearing this, the singer stopped singing and began to shout abuses with her finger pointed at the man. at this time the whole audience burst into an uproar.

how disappointed her keen listeners were when they learned this! it is the singer herself who spoiled her beautiful image in the eyes of others.

now, i’m coming to another true story. it’s about a poor, ordinary looking old woman. she was a widow without any children, living barely from hand to mouth by picking odds and ends from rubbish heaps. however, she took in more than ten homeless orphans successively and managed to bring them up. every day she labored from morning till night. in order to earn as much money as possible to raise the children and to keep them in school, she even went to a hospital regularly to sell her blood. she got so weak for the loss of blood that she sometimes fell in a faint on her way home.

responsibility is a badge of honour for youth

facing this audience on the stage, i have the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere competition or contest. it is an assembly of some of china’s most talented and motivated people, representatives of a younger generation that are preparing themselves for the coming of a new century.

i’m grateful that i’ve been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well.

though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years.

in my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons.

the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me. but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, i always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.

one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, “could you please explain this to me? i want very much to do better this time. “ i started explaining, and finished in a hurry. pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly. nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam. and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer. no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldn’t forgive myself. i simply couldn’t forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, “why didn’t you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? why didn’t you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret?” i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word “responsibility” and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.

later in my life, i continued to experience many failures. but never again did i feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that i have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best i can.

as i grew up, changed and improved by this incident and many other similar ones, i began to perceive the changes taking place around me and to find that society, in a way, was in its formative years like myself. new buildings, new commodities and new fashions appear every day.

new ideas, new information, new technologies. people can talk with each other from any corner of the earth in a matter of seconds. society is becoming more competitive.

words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts. such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures.

such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it. yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.

we learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not assisting. we hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who can’t even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.

we buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthless junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility.

such an era, therefore, determines that we are a generation with a keener sense of competition and efficiency and a greater readiness to think critically and act creatively.

such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggressive will to take action and solve the problems. history has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity. standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student. probably i’ll be an ordinary man for the rest of my life. but this doesn’t discourage me any, for i know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, it’s going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that i will be living.

standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of this nation, which has achieved greatness that inspired millions of people of my age, most of whom will not attain fame or prestige and only a few of whom will be remembered by posterity. but that doesn’t discourage us any, because we know that the world watches, the world listens, the world is waiting to see where this nation will be heading in a time of rich opportunities and fierce competition.

i can’t ever forget that little girl in my class who couldn’t had the same opportunities as any of us here to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world tomorrow.

it is the sacred responsibility of this generation to face up to the challenges of the new century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom and passion, to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for every one of us.

we are not going to evade that responsibility. we are going to let people down. and people, far and near, will hear of us. frost will be brought to their backbones and tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold, so let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory and glory.

knowing the consequences of choice

over the past spring festival, i got involved in a family dispute. right before i got home, four satellite channels of cctv were added to the 14 channels we had already had. in prime time at night, they all had interesting shows. therefore, the five of us-my parents, my sisters and i-had to argue over what to watch. finally, we agreed that we should watch the “most interesting” programme... if we

could agree what that was.

however, all of us there remember that for a long time after we had tv, there were only one or two channels available. the increase in options reveals an important change in our life: the abundance of choice.

fifteen years ago we all dressed in one style and in one colour. today, we select from a wide variety of designs and shades.

i regain confidenceby li jun

i received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. i applied to be a host in our student acting troupe and felt confident that i would be accepted. but one of the panel members told me: “you seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged.” my life has never been the same since. i used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. but no matter how hard i tried to look the part, there was still something missing.

as president of english club, i organized the rehearsal of snow white for an english party. unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. it had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in english. suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and i knew i would have to be the dwarf. to my great surprise and delight, once on stage, i was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. as the dwarf, i was a big hit.

yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.

a world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. the real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.

given a choice, i would rather be ugly than live in such a world. i’d rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a snow white than be a snow white among nothing but snow whites. i would rather be myself. i would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. please, be yourself.

5.结束语

ok, thats all. thank you very much.

千万不要来一句“sorry, my english is poor”。常见的开头有: i am glad to be here for this interview. first let me introduce myself. im ..., my number is ?

history)。

三、若考官问其他的,没有听明白,可以说"could you speak slowly ?"or"sorry,i didn`t prepare for this question"相信英语(论坛)口语菜的人大有人在,豁出去了保持微笑:i am sorry! i beg your pardon? i don’t understand your question, could you repeat it again?sorry, i don’t know. (i am little acquainted with the aspect of special knowledge)but i wish i can have a chance to learn more deeply the knowledge under your direction

1"what can you tell me about yourself?"

this is not an invitation to give your life history. the interviewer is looking for clues about your character, qualifications, ambitions, and motivations.

2"what would you like to be doing five years after graduation?"

if possible, i will go on with my study for doctorate degree. after graduating received doctorate degree, i wanted to teach in university, and continue research in archaian(古代的) literature field,i hope i can have some achievement in my major.

3. "what is your greatest strength"?" "

"i feel that my strongest asset is my ability to stick to things to get them done. i feel a real sense of accomplishment when i finish a job and it turns out just as i’d planned. i’ve set some high goals for myself. for example, i want to graduate with highest distinction.

4 "what is your greatest weakness?""

maybe because i am young people, i am a short fuse girl in daily life, fortunately i have realized it was disadvantage, and i am trying my best to get rid of it.

5. how do you feel about your progress to date?

good morning, ladies and gentlemen:

today i’m very happy to be here to share with you some of my thoughts on the topic of globalization. and first of all, i would like to mention an event in our recent history.

thirty years ago, american president richard nixon made an epoch-making visit to china, a country still isolated at that time. premier zhou enlai said to him, "your handshake came over the vastest ocean in the world - twenty-five years of no communication." ever since then, china and america have exchanged many handshakes of various kinds. the fundamental implication of this example is that the need and desire to communicate across differences in culture and ideology is not only felt by the two countries but by many other nations as well.

as we can see today, environmentalists from different countries are making joint efforts to address the issue of global warming, economists are seeking solutions to financial crises that rage in a particular region but nonetheless cripple the world’s economy, and diplomats and politicians are getting together to discuss the issue of combating terrorism. peace and prosperity has become a common goal that we are striving for all over the world. underlying this mighty trend of globalization is the echo of e. m. forster’s words, "only connect!"

with the it revolution taking place, traditional boundaries of human society fall away. our culture, politics, society and commerce are being sloshed into a large melting pot of humanity. in this interlinked world, there are no outsiders, for a disturbance in one place is likely to impact other parts of the globe. we have begun to realize that a world divided cannot endure.

china is now actively integrating into the world. our recent entry to the wto is a good example. for decades, we have taken pride in being self-reliant, but now we realize the importance of participating in and contributing to a broader economic order. from the precarious role in the world arena to our present wto membership, we have come a long way.

but what does the way ahead look like? in some parts of the world people are demonstrating against globalization. are they justified then, in criticizing the globalizing world? instead of narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor, they say, globalization enables developed nations to swallow the developing nations’ wealth in debts and interest. globalization, they argue, should be about an earnest interest in every other nation’s economic health.

we are reminded by karl marx that capital goes beyond national borders and eludes control from any other entity. this has become a reality. multinational corporations are seeking the lowest cost, the largest market, and the most favorable policy. they are often powerful lobbyists in government decision-making, ruthless expansionists in the global market place and a devastating presence to local businesses.

for china, still more challenges exist. how are we going to ensure a smooth transition from the planned economy to a market-based one? how to construct a legal system that is sound enough and broad enough to respond to the needs of a dynamic society? how to maintain our cultural identity in an increasingly homogeneous world? and how to define greatness in our rise as a peace-loving nation? globalization entails questions that concern us all.

like many young people my age in china, i want to see my country get prosperous and enjoying respect in the international community. but it seems to me that mere patriotism is not just enough. it is vitally important that we young people do more serious thinking and broaden our mind to bigger issues. and, there might never be easy answers to those issues such as globalization, but to take them on and give them honest thinking is the first step to be prepared for both opportunities and challenges coming our way. and this is also one of the thoughts that came to me while preparing this speech. thank you.

facing this audience on the stage, i have the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere competition or contest. it is an assembly of some of china's most talented and motivated people, representatives of a younger generation that are preparing themselves for the coming of a new century.

i'm grateful that i've been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well.

though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years.

in my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons.

the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me. but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, i always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.

one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, "could you please explain this to me? i want very much to do better this time. " i started explaining, and finished in a hurry. pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly. nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam. and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer. no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldn't forgive myself. i simply couldn't forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, "why didn't you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? why didn't you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret?"

i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word "responsibility" and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.

later in my life, i continued to experience many failures. but never again did i feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that i have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best i can.

as i grew up, changed and improved by this incident and many other similar ones, i began to perceive the changes taking place around me and to find that society, in a way, was in its formative years like myself. new buildings, new commodities and new fashions appear every day.

new ideas, new information, new technologies. people can talk with each other from any corner of the earth in a matter of seconds. society is becoming more competitive.

words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts. such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures.

such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it. yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.

we learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not assisting. we hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who can't even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.

we buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthless junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility.

such an era, therefore, determines that we are a generation with a keener sense of competition and efficiency and a greater readiness to think critically and act creatively.

such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggressive will to take action and solve the problems. history has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity.

standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student. probably i'll be an ordinary man for the rest of my life. but this doesn't discourage me any, for i know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, it's going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that i will be living.

standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of this nation, which has achieved greatness that inspired millions of people of my age, most of whom will not attain fame or prestige and only a few of whom will be remembered by posterity. but that doesn't discourage us any, because we know that the world watches, the world listens, the world is waiting to see where this nation will be heading in a time of rich opportunities and fierce competition.

i can't ever forget that little girl in my class who couldn't had the same opportunities as any of us here to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world tomorrow.

it is the sacred responsibility of this generation to face up to the challenges of the new century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom and passion, to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for every one of us.

we are not going to evade that responsibility. we are going to let people down. and people, far and near, will hear of us. frost will be brought to their backbones and tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold, so let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory and glory.

building bridges for the future

i’m studying in a city that’s famous for its walls. people who visit my city are amazed at the imposing sight of its walls, especially when silhouetted against the setting sun with gold, shining streaks. the old, cracked bricks are covered with lichens and the walls are weather-beaten guards standing still for centuries.

our ancestors liked to build walls. they built walls in beijing, xi’an, nanjing and many other cities, and they built the great wall, which snakes across half our country. they built walls to protect against enemies and evil spirits. this tradition has survived to this day: we still have many parks and schools walled off from the public.

for a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world to me.

my perceptions, however, changed after i made a hiking trip to the eastern suburbs of my city. my classmates and i were walking with some foreign students. as we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by tall trees, which formed a wide canopy above our heads. suddenly one foreign student asked me, “where is the entrance to the eastern suburbs?”

“we’re already in the eastern suburbs,” i replied. he seemed taken aback, “i thought you chinese had walls for everything.” his remark set off a heated debate. at one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while i insisted that the eastern suburbs were one of the many places in china that had no walls.

that debate had no winners, but i did learn a lot from this student. for instance, he told me that some major universities like oxford and cambridge were not surrounded by walls. i have to admit that we do have many walls in china, and as we develop our country, we must look carefully at them and decide whether they are physical or intangible. we will keep some walls but tear down those that impede our development.

let me give another example.

a year ago, when i was working on a term paper, i needed a book on business law and found a copy in the law school library. however, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “you can’t borrow this book, you’re not a student here.” in the end, i had to spend 200 yuan to buy a copy. meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf.

at the beginning of this semester, i heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn’t be repeated. barriers would be replaced by bridges. an inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. with globalization and china integrated into the world, i believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.

i know that globalization is a controversial issue, and it is hard to say whether it is good or bad. but one thing is for sure: it draws our attention to china’s tangible and intangible walls and forces us to examine their role in the modern world.

and how about the ancient walls of mine and other cities? should we tear them down? definitely not. my city, like beijing and other cities, is actually making a great effort to preserve the walls. these walls attract historians, archaeologists, and many schoolchildren who are trying to study our history and cultural heritage. walls have become bridges to our past and to the rest of the world. if the ancient builders of these walls were still alive today, they would be proud to see such great changes in the role of their walls. they are now bridges that link east and west, south and north, and all countries of the world. our cultural heritage will survive globalization.

distinguished judges, ladies and gentlemen,

good afernoon.

today, i’m very honord to stand here to give you a speech and share my idea about 90s with you.

there is a saying goes that “90s generation is the net generation”as 90s are growing up with the fast development of internet and could be the first experiencers in the information era. some people even hold that 90s can’t live without network.

to some extend, i agree that net plays a very important role in most of 90s’ life. it makes life convinient.you can buy almost anything you want and you needn’t go to the supermaket, mall or some places else by online shopping.you can collect a lot of information from the internet and you needn’t go to the library to borrow the book you want which is hard to find.you can enjoy woderful music and movies you like and needn’t buy a ticket that will cost amounts of money.

but internet is only a part of 90s’ life, let alone those who live in undeveloped regions. they actually don’t get any chance to have access to the net. i think computer and network is just a tool for us 90s to learn kownledge and to communicate with others. for example, one of my dear friend liming, who is really a so-called “net generation”. he always buys a lot of things online, such as his hats, bags and even some presents he want to send to his mother. he usually finishes his homework by seaching the information on the internet. he constantly downloads the music he likes, especaily the songs aresinged by super gilrs or happy boys. computer and internet is tool for him and colourfuled his life .

as a member of 90s, i kown there are so many misunderstandings to 90s. and i know the community is no lack of criticism to the 90s. nowadays, a lot of people think 90s generation is a negative generation for 90s are addicted to network, unable to stand a setback, selfish and conceited. however, as far as i am concerned, i inclined to believe that 90s is a promising generation. though our 90s are not perfect, we need a priod to grow up. as we all know, most of 90s are only child in our family. the majority of us are underage in current, 90s’thought are different from other people. doesn’t every successful adults grow up from a naive child? so please don’t laugh at us for our mistakes and being naive.what we need is just more concerns and guidances. please don’t call us the net generation, just call us the growing generation .

thank you, thanks for your listening.

franklin delano roosevelt

in the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.

the first is freedom of speech and expression -- everywhere in the world.

the second is freedom of every person to worship god in his own way -- everywhere in the world.

the third is freedom from want, which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants -- everywhere in the world.

the fourth is freedom from fear, which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor -- anywhere in the world.

that is no vision of a distant millennium. it is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. that kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called “new order” of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb.

to that new order we oppose the greater conception -- the moral order. a good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear.

since the beginning of our american history we have been engaged in change, in a perpetual, peaceful revolution, a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly, adjusting itself to changing conditions without the concentration camp or the quicklime in the ditch. the world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly, civilized society.

this nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women, and its faith in freedom under the guidance of god. freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights and keep them. our strength is our unity of purpose.

to that high concept there can be no end save victory.

第三篇:世界环境日英语演讲稿world environment day is commemorated each year on june 5th, and started from 1972, which is established by the united nations general assembly for raising global awareness to take actions to protect the nature. the establishment of world environment day shows people’s the cognition and the attitude to the environmental problem, and expresses our human beings’ desire of pursuing the better environment. every year the united nations environment program proposes a theme, and the 2014 theme of this day will focus on ‘small island and climate change’ and the slogan is “raise your voice not the sea level”.

world environment day can be celebrated in lots of ways, for instances, planting trees, doing some recycling, participating the clean-up campaigns and so on. certainly people can also do something simple, like going to work by bus instead of private cars. i believe if everyone takes environmental actions as a habit, we are doing a big difference for the better environment.

第四篇:著名演讲稿著名演讲稿大学生英文演讲稿:从跌倒的地方站起来 lets stand up from where we fall down all the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year 2014, because life without a greeting is like the sky without the sun.greetings are very important for the whole world,in my opinion. but i dont know whether greetings are enough for us.especially when we meet with failures .i remember quite clearly that when i was a child,if i fall down and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me”please stand up from where you fall down!” yes,we must stand up from where we fall down. that was a special mid night in 1993.expectations filled our hearts. we stared at the tv,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to our ears. but at last, each chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to know the result:beijing ,lost to sydeny by a margin of two votes in the olympic hosting competition. eight years have past, but the frustration has not healed with time at all. now,at the begining of the new millennium, all of the pride and disappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. the 21st century, which is full of hope, longing znd thought has come. someone said,we would start from zero on. should i really start from zero on? no!i hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed by last century, and make our life better. “new beijing, great olympics!” the voice cries this out around chinas captital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days. beijing, along with paris, istanbul, osake and toronto, has been shortlisted by the international olympic committee as an official candidate city for the 2014 olympic games. this is beijings second attempt to host the games. everyone fully supports beijings bid for it. maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of beijing. maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up. maybe,we can learn and speak basic english idioms and expressions for daily communication. but,but are they just enough? facing the new century, mankind is driven by the revolution of science and technoiogy, world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. but nobody can deny the fact that compared with developed nations, developing countries are confronted with more pressure and challenges.in order to become famous in the world,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to catch up with industrialized nations. supporting beijings bid is a systematic project that can support chinasdevelopment efforts. i believe recycled pa-pe-r,clean fuel, sorted rubbish,water-saving and enery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years for china. i believe the new century is an era of learning ans teaching, and lifelong education has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of chinese society. i believe that,on july 13,our dream of beijings olympic bid will become true. because to millions of chinese, for china to have the gloal respect and support that she deserves is not just a dream. it is a part of our very souls.for we are not only equal members of our motherland, china, but we are also equal contributors to the world as a whole. let us stand together, all nations in beijing,in brotherhood, friendship and peace, in 2014 and forever!

on love

love is of the utmost importance to us humans. everybody not only needs love, but also should give others love.

"love is a lamp which is brighter in darker places." this is indeed true. people in darker places need more light than other people. maybe even a dim light can give them much hope for a better life. maybe just a thread of light will call forth their strength and courage to help them step out of their difficulties.

i can think of no better illustration of this idea than the following examples. (numerous examples can be given easily, but these will suffice for instance when someone is starving to death, just a little food and water from you may save his(her) life. again, when a little girl in a poor rural area drops out of school because of poverty, just a small sum of money from you may support her t o finish school and change her life. in these circumstances you have given love which is like a lamp in a dark place where light is most needed.

to sum up, we should offer our help to all the needed. we expect to get love from others and we also give love to others. so when you see someone in difficulty or in distress and in need of help, don’t hesitate to give your love to him (her). i believe that the relationship between people will be harmonious and our society will be a better place for us to live in.

how to improve your health and your life

with the advent of the fast-paced life, there is a growing lack of exercise, living more and there is no law. health status also declined. so how do we improve our health and life? first, we want to develop a regular schedule and a nutritious diet plan. into practical action and stick to it, so that their bodies to adapt to the environment. then, we need to have a movement, can one week exercise two to three times, allowing the body to a lot of perspiration, the body too much pressure and the excretion of toxins through exercise. finally, i think we should see some benefit our physical and mental books, books can not only enrich our extra-curricular knowledge and can edify sentiment. if we have a good life plan, the fast-paced (敬请期待91考试网更好文章:wWw.91exam.org)life and can not be interrupted by the laws of our lives. therefore, we in the rapid development of the economic environment, as much as possible to reflect on their own habits are conducive to the physical and mental development, and to develop appropriate plans to improve.

a national symbol of china

the most famous national symbol of china for the foreigners is undoubtedly the great wall. it is said that the great wall is the only man-made building visible from outer space. the great wall becomes a tour site which becomes a must for those visitors abroad. although some segments of great wall is made full use of and bring a lot of forturne to the local goverment like beijing, most part of the wall is still in the wild without being noticed. so it’s important for us to protect it when taking advantage of it.

it is widely known that dragon is the symbol of our great china. we chinese was called "legend of the dragon". there are lots of famous stories about dragon. i am also very proud of being one of the "legend of the dragon". but in my opinion, china is also the symbol of our great china. we all know that there is a long history of chinese china.our chines china is sleek, famous andquality is excellent. the most famous is jingdezhen. jingdezhen, jiangxi has been famous for being fruitful of china and enjoyed the title as "capital of china". it attracts many foreigners and chinese either. from my perspective, our great china have lots of symbols. dragon and china are just two members of them.

how to i want others to remember me after i die

death is really an unavoided topic for all of us. since memory is forever, so people always want others to remember them after they die. so how i want others to remember me after i die? well, for me, i hope different people to have different memories of me.for my father, i hope him to remember me as a well-behaved daughter, a real pride of him. i hope that when he talks about me with someone else, he can feel proud of me. i hope he will think of those good times spent with me and feels happy.for my dear friends, i want them to remember me as a true friend, a friend they can share happiness and sorrow with. i hope they will have a

people who shape our world

years ago, when western analysts asked me to name the most influential internet service in china, i would always answer, "qq." their reaction was usually, "q who?" but while the qq community may have been invisible to people outside china, inside the country it was already a household name and was fundamentally changing the way china’s youth meet, share ideas and entertain themselves.

now it’s hard to imagine china without tencent and the qq service it runs. pony ma, 35, the visionary behind tencent, is a modern hero, especially among china’s young people. and a self-made one. he started tencent with few resources and built the company through pure determination, listening to consumers rather than internet analysts or critics.

pony realized very early that he was creating much more than a website. he was building a community, and that meant serving a generation of single-child households. he connected these kids online, allowing them to make friends, build social networks, chat, play games and do something their parents didn’t have enough opportunities to do: simply have fun. pony showed an uncanny ability to adapt international models for the local china market, on the basis of his strong insight into the consumer. china’s youth responded by joining his online community. qq arose at a time when many internet companies tried to slap western business models on the china market and failed. but qq now boasts more than 100 million users. pony’s impact on the youth of today’s china will be felt in tomorrow’s china as the qq community fosters an open, trusting, creative generation.

good afternoon, my best teacher and my honest friends.

today the title of my speech is aids.

maybe everybody wants to ask what is aids? well, aids stands for acquired immune deficiency syndrome

it is acknowledged that aids has three transmissions. at first, the most frequent mode of transmission of aids is through sexual contact with an infected person. and the second is via blood and blood products. most of them used the same needle to take drugs. the last one is mother to child. aids can be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy, delivery, or through breast milk.

many people are afraid of aids patients since they think there is a risk of being infected. people with aids are normally lonely since many people are not willing to communicate with them.

actually this is a kind of misunderstanding since it is safe to talk to or shake hands with aids patients. people with aids need more care and support to help them overcome the difficulties. therefore if we all set up the correct understanding and try to help the people with aids, our society is going to be more caring and beautiful.

thats all. thank you!

i have a dream,

my dream is to build a “time machine”.

this time machine will take me back to the past and future.

we all know that the time can’t come back.

but if it can go back to the past, can the result still be changed? such as the moments when i did very badly on the test, when my friends got hurt, and embarrassed, and also have more time to play with my father.

time will surely pass, but i just want to have less regret today.

going to the future is to see myself in the future standing at the other end of the time and having a good time with mom. now i want to achieve these wishes, can i achieve them in the future?

butthink much of this, if i can’t invent the time machine now, its not too bad because its just imagination. i would study harder so as not have a lot of regrets in my life.

i have a dream by martin luther king, jr.

i am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

but one hundred years later, the negro still is not free. one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languished in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and so we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

in a sense we’ve come to our nation’s capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable rights" of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. and so, we’ve come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. now is the time to make justice a reality for all of god’s children.

it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. this sweltering summer of the negro’s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. and those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. and there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted his citizenship rights. the whirlw(内容来源好 范文网:www.91exam.org)inds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

but there is something that i must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: in the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

the marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. and they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

we cannot walk alone.

and as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

we cannot turn back.

there are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" we can never be satisfied as long as the negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. we can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. we cannot be satisfied as long as a negro in mississippi cannot vote and a negro in new york believes he has nothing for which to vote. no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."i am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. and some of you have come from areas where your quest -- quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. you have been the veterans of creative suffering. continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. go back to mississippi, go back to alabama, go back to south carolina, go back to georgia, go back to louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

let us not wallow in the valley of despair, i say to you today, my friends.

and so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, i still have a dream. it is a dream deeply rooted in the american dream.

i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

i have a dream that one day on the red hills of georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

i have a dream that one day even the state of mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

i have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

i have a dream today!

i have a dream that one day, down in alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

i have a dream today!

i have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."?

this is our hope, and this is the faith that i go back to the south with.

with this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. with this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. with this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

and this will be the day -- this will be the day when all of god’s children will be able to sing with new meaning:

my country ‘tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee i sing.

land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim’s pride,

from every mountainside, let freedom ring!

and if america is to be a great nation, this must become true.

and so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of new hampshire.

let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of new york.

let freedom ring from the heightening alleghenies of

pennsylvania.

let freedom ring from the snow-capped rockies of colorado.

let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of california.

but not only that:

let freedom ring from stone mountain of georgia.

let freedom ring from lookout mountain of tennessee.

let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of mississippi.

from every mountainside, let freedom ring.

and when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of god’s children, black men and white men, jews and gentiles, protestants and catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spiritual:

free at last! free at last!

thank god almighty, we are free at last!

i have a dream

every one has his own dream.when i was a little kid ,my dream was even to have a candy shop of my own .but now ,when i am 16 years old ,standing here ,my dreams have already changed a lot.i have got quite different experience from other girls.while they were playing toys at home, while they were dreaming to be the princesses in the story .i was running in the hard rain, jumping in the heavy snow, pitching in the strong wind.nothing could stop me ,because of a wonderful call from my heart -- to be an athlete.yeah ,of course ,i’m an athlete,i’m so proud of that all the time .

when i was 10 years old ,i became a shot-put athlete.the training was really hard ,i couldn’t bear the heavy shot in my hands .but i always believe that "god only help those who help themselves".during those hard days,i find i was growing more quickly than others of the same age.to be an athlete is my most correct choice.but,i quit my team after entering high school because of a silly excuse.i really didn’t want to stop my sports career anyway.today i say to you my friends that even though i must face the difficulties of yesterday ,today and tomorrow .i still have a dream .it is a dream deeply rooted in my soul.

i have a dream that one day ,i can run, jump and pitch just like i used to be.

i have a dream that one day , i can go back to my dream sports and join the national team.

i have a dream that one day ,i can stand on the highest place at the olympic games.with all the cameras pointing at me.i will tell everyone that i’m so proud to be a chinese athlete!

this is my hope .this is the faith that i continue my steps with!!!with this faith ,i will live though the strong wind and heavy rain ,never give up !

so let victory ring from my heart, from all of you.when we allow victory to ring .i must be the one!

in my imagination,i’m a bird ,a magical bird.i carry my dreams all with me by my big wings. i fly though the mountains ,though the forests ,over the sea,to the sun ,the warmest place in the aerospace!every night ,i have a dream ,i see a girl ---smiling~

harmony between man and nature is economic and social development to a certain extent, a certain stage the only way is to sum up experiences and lessons of humanity after the inevitable choice, time goes by, the dramatic increase in population, human experience and the accumulation of knowledge and the development of science and technology , especially after the industrial revolution, human transformation of nature, affect the ability of the natural growing .more than 100 years ago, engels pointed out that human beings can change the natural order to make the natural world for their own purposes, to dominate the natural world, but every stepwe take must bekept in mind that human domination of nature is not standing outsidenature

youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a mater of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20. nobody grows old merely by a number of years. we grow old by deserting our ideals.

years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

whether 60 or 16, there is in every human beings heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing childlike appetite of whats next and the joy of the game of living. in the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young.

when the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, them you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.

三、the more loving one

w.h.auden/w.h.奥登

looking up at the stars, i know quite well

that, for all they care, i can go to hell,

but on earth indifference is the least

we have to dread from man or beast.

how should we like it were stars to burn

with a passion for us we could not return?

if equal affection cannot be, 倘若无法产生同样的感情,

let the more loving one be me.

admirer as i think i am

of stars that do not give a damn,

i cannot, now i see them ,say

i missed one terribly all day.

were all stars to disappear or die

i should learn to look at an empty sky

and feel its total dark sublime,

though this might take me a little time.

a perfect holiday(四年级)

good morning, everyone! my topic is “a perfect holiday”.

now its the 21st century, everyone is busy. especially our parents are very busy. every boys and girls, please imagine this: your parents go to work, but you have to stay at home alone. would life as easy as when your parents are around? would it be a perfect holiday for you?

once, my parents both go on business. i worry “where would i find food? how would i cook it?” actually i know little about cooking.

i can fill an empty stomach with tomato and egg soup, but thats all. i think many of my classmates are the same. we dont know what to do, or how to look after ourselves. so i dont think teenagers get enough practice.

my friends said that they did their homework until 10 oclock, its so late! most teenagers only have time for their homework. they dont learn any life skills until they go to college.

but why this happens? in my opinion, many teenagers depend too much on their parents, and there is much more to learn than cooking, like” tidying up your room or even dressing yourself properly”.

if we want to solve this problem, theres a way: try our best to do some things on our own. a human first need be a self-help person, and then he will be a successful man.

thanks for everyone.
