An excellent opportunity for a creative, adaptable and self-motivated individual, with a proficient command of English and with native proficiency in Chinese. This is a research and lab management position with two professors (one of them foreign non-Chinese) of international caliber working on various aspects of Parallel Computing and Machine Learning. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for acquiring goods for their high-tech, fast paced laboratories, communicating within an English-speaking environment with the professors and their students, filing reimbursements and translating documents, etc.  Specific tasks are as follows.

Tasks:
• Research project liaison and management
◦ Be point of contact between the faculty members and government agencies and university administration.
◦ Manage research budget, contact suppliers and procure equipment.
◦ Support faculty and students on travel, conferences and meetings.
• Support the non-Chinese, English speaking faculty
◦ Assist in preparing project reports, research applications, etc.
◦ Translate documents from Chinese to English.
◦ Translate documents from English to Chinese.
Graduate students will be available to help with the translation whenever technical background is needed.

Skills:
• Native Chinese speaker
• Proficient command of written and oral English
• Technical skills:
◦ Minimum: Bachelor in English, English Literature, Education, Communication, History, Anthropology, Translation, or in a related discipline (Humanities or Social Sciences).
◦ Preferred: Experience with translation (English to Chinese, Chinese to English).
◦ Preferred: Experience in a school/academic environment.
◦ Preferred: Experience with office work.
