The Faculty of Education at BNU is looking for a Managing Editor for the journal The Beijing International Review of Education (BIRE), an English language journal published by Brill/Sense. It is a new start-up broad review education journal that begins 2019 with four is sues per year.

The Managing Editor is an administrative position that reports directly to the Editors-in-Chief (Dean Professor Zhu Xudong and Distinguished Professor Michael A. Peters). The ideal candidate will be a younger person who has a postgraduate qualification. Their primary responsibility will be in managing the Brill publisher’s database to ensure that manuscripts submitted by authors are properly acknowledged, conform to the journal’s housestyle, and are sent out to reviewers and returned in time as well any correspondence. The Managing Editor requires excellent language skills in English and Chinese, excellent organization skills, and proficient skills in using computers and technology. Experience in the publishing industry would be an advantage but is not required. The Managing Editor will also be asked to do some technical editing including English polishing of scripts by Chinese scholars, and other administrative tasks as required by the Editors. By 2020 they may be required to manage more than one journal.
