Jingyi Yu is a Full Professor in the School of Information Science and Technology at the ShanghaiTech University. He received B.S. from Caltech in 2000 and Ph.D. from MIT in 2005. His research interests span a range of topics in computer vision and computer graphics, especially on computational photography and non-conventional optics and camera designs. He has published over 100 papers at highly refereed conferences and journals including over 40 papers at the premiere conferences CVPR/ICCV/ECCV. He has been granted 10 US patents on computational imaging. The center of Virtual Reality and Vision Computing (VRVC) is a renowned research institute at the ShanghaiTech University. This center’s research area is the study of computer vision, computer graphics, computational imaging and photography, SLAM, deep learning, machine learning and video codecs. In order to promote the research ability in the area of deep learning and video codecs, the VRVC is looking for an exceptional postdoctoral researcher in the interface between deep learning and video codecs.

The postdoctoral researcher will work within the following area: computer vision, deep learning and video codecs. Lead the research group in the deep learning and video codecs area.

(1) PhD degree must be obtained in Information and Communication Engineering, Computer Science or related areas.

(2) Have expertise in video processing/computer vision, machine learning (both traditional and deep learning), video codecs.

(3) Be proficient in multiple languages such as MATLAB and Python.

(4) Good communication skills.

(5) Fluent in oral and written English.

(6) Research works testifying the capacity to publish regularly in top journals in the areas of compute vision and AI.

(7) Strong cooperative attitude and willingness to engage in collaborative research.

(8) Have specific experience with computational imaging and photography will be better.
