Research Interest
Genomic technologies are powerful tools to explore gene expression, diseases associated DNA variants, epigenetic regulation, chromatin conformation, genetic dependency and many other fundamental biological questions. More recently, single cell sequencing has further improved our understanding of heterogeneous cell population and drug resistance at single cell level. The mission of this core lab is to apply and develop genomics and bioinformatics methods to drive our understanding of biology and diseases. Our lab will develop informatics and wet lab capabilities to interrogate biology questions and translational medicine applications. Key efforts of this lab are to
(1) Drive scientific discoveries through deep interdisciplinary collaboration;
(2) Develop and optimize novel genomic technologies and bioinformatic technologies, including but not limited to, single cell multi-omics and novel functional genomics screening;
(3) Drug target identification.
Job Description
1. Position: Postdoctoral Fellow - Bioinformatics
Requirements:
(1) Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Statistics, Computational Science, Data Science or related filed;
(2) Outstanding communication, presentation and writing skills in English;
(3) Experience with NGS data analysis from DNA, RNA or single-cell sequencing studies;
(4) Proficiency with programming languages (R or Python) in Linux/Unix environment;
(5) Excellent visualization and analytic skills for big data;
(6) Knowledge in one or more biology fields.
Preferred skills:
(1) Experience with computational pipeline implementation;
(2) Experience with machine learning;
(3) Experience with reproducible research, version control and deployment containers.
2. Position: Postdoctoral Fellow - Genomics
Requirements:
(1) Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Immunology or related filed;
(2) Outstanding communication, presentation and writing skills in English;
(3) Hands-on experience with NGS library construction from DNA, RNA or single-cell RNA sequencing studies;
(4) Deep knowledge in the principles, procedures and applications of various genomics applications.
Preferred skills:
(1) Experience with CRISPR functional screening;
(2) Experience with single cell multi-omics;
(3) Knowledge in Cancer biology/Immunology.
3. Other requirements:
(1) Have obtained or about to obtain a Ph.D. degree, aged under 40;
(2) Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinar y project teams;
(3) Ability to think independently; Strong passion and curiosity in science and technology; Commitment to research integrity.
Compensation and Benefits
The research team offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applications for relevant projects and programs will be encouraged and supported.
Post-doc(s) who selected for China Postdoctoral Science Foundation or Advanced Programs of Zhejiang Province will be entitled to receive the same amount funds from the Hangzhou government.
Post-doc(s) who full-time work in Hangzhou after completing their post-doc research will be eligible for applying allowance of 400,000RMB from the Hangzhou government.
