Position Description

The chosen candidate will collaborate with GTIIT business units and fellow IT Department members to manage the implementation and maintenance of students and other business systems, develop applications and integrations with the existing environment according to business needs. This position requires solid database & software development skills and experience as well as a demonstrated ability for independent thought and working within a team framework.

Duties and Responsibilities

●Implement business systems and propose support model according to business needs.

●Analyze system users’ concerns, requirements, and requests for system features and uses; identify and make recommendations regarding applications, modifications, and enhancements to existing systems to accommodate user needs.

●Take an integral part in the technical realization of the chosen Student Lifecycle Management solution in GTIIT, including system setup, configurations, testing, integrations, data migration, etc.

●Support and maintain the system after go-live. Troubleshoots and resolves any system-related hardware, software, user access or other problems.

●eva luate different business system solutions in order to recommend the most suitable system.

●Design and document detailed specifications for business systems, including the usage of common modelling techniques.

●Design, build and maintain web applications from scratch according to business needs.

●Create, implement, and improve development and testing environment for production applications and adhere to recognized development practices, such as version control.

●Operate as an administrator for various applications, including maintenance, support for users and development of new features and functionalities.

Develop documentation of applications, workflow and procedures to guide end-users for using new systems and applications.

●Document all technical processes, requirements, flows and diagrams.

●Willingness to take on projects and other assignments as directed by management.

Required Job Specifications

●Required qualification: bachelor degree or above in the field of information systems, computer science or another relevant field.

●Technical, hands-on work experience with business system and other information systems. Experience with Higher education systems would be a significant advantage.

●Experience in work with relational databases and complex queries (Oracle BI tools, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.)

●Experience in developing applications including design, coding server-side using languages such as C# (.NET Core) and coding client-side using common languages such as HTML, JS, CSS.

Required Job Competencies

●Excellent communication skills in English (Speaking, Writing, Reading) are mandatory.

●Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements.

●Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

●Knowledge and understanding of project management methodology, such as Agile, PMP.

●Understanding of specification, analysis and modelling of information systems using common tools (UML, flow charts, ER diagrams, etc.)

●Familiarity with web development frameworks such as WordPress, MS SharePoint.

●Ability to work in an international institute, deliver guidance to Chinese as well as international students, faculty, and staff and support their needs.
