Description
The incumbent will be
responsible for providing first line IT support, IT inventory and device-loan
service and other project management.
Duties and
Responsibilities
·Follow IT procedures to provide
daily technical services through front-line support for the use of all IT computing
facilities (hardware and software), including shift work.
·Maintain in-house computer
systems, desktops (hardware and software), and peripherals. This includes
installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and
equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance to international
members as well as Chinese.
·Respond to requests for support
from IT system end-users to resolve their technical problems, and ensure all
calls are logged and tracked in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
·Adhere to escalation processes
by collecting the required information and make sure incidents are properly
updated in the ITSM system before the ticket is escalated.
·Develop, document and update
user guides based on knowledge of technical specialisms.
·Maintain procedures and produce
regular technical support reports.
·Analyze records and logs to
spot underlying trends and potential issues.
·Support the implementation of
new solutions or applications.
·Provide professional assistance
in cybersecurity to compliance with local laws and regulations.
·Take responsibility for own
workload and keep others informed, highlighting potential problems and
suggesting solutions to ensure continuity of service delivery.
·Register new IT devices into the
IT assets management system.
·Update IT assets management
system to keep an accurate inventory.
·Manage portable IT devices for
the equipment loan service.
·Identify professional training
and development needs and source opportunities to meet these.
·Co-ordinate IT service
planning, wider communication and team development for the department including
peers in Technion and Shantou University.
·For IT support projects, manage
the project lifecycle from A to Z.
·Supervise IT support SLA
through the ITSM system.
·Some out of office hours
on-call support will be required.
·Any other duties that are
commensurate with the grade of the post.
Required Job
Specifications
·Required qualification / academic
degree: bachelor degree or above from an internationally reputable university,
majoring in computer science, information technology or related disciplines.
·Required experience: 1-3 years
working experience in IT field is preferred.
Required Job Competencies
·Language ability: Fluent
Chinese and English (spoken and written). CET6 or equivalents
·Wide range of IT skills with
good understanding of computing hardware, operating systems and applications.
·Knowledge of deploying software
by various means in an enterprise environment.
·Knowledge of patching,
supporting, administering and configuring server operating systems and
applications.
·Understanding of LAN/WAN
communications and network printing.
·Experience of Windows 10/11
operating systems.
·Excellent communications and
interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with staff and
students, with a positive approach to customer care.
·Good problem solving and
organizational skills.
·Willingness to work flexibly
and to provide some support out of office hours.
·Ability to work under own
initiative and as a member of a team, and work well under pressure.
