Accepting applications for Research Associate Professor/Research Assistant Professor positions in James E. Rothman lab in the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS) at Shanghaitech University

We are recruiting a talented molecular cell biologist, who is interested in studying fundamental aspects of membrane trafficking and its role in Ciliogenesis in mammalian cells. In particular, the candidate will be investigating (1) the role of Rab-GTPases and Septins in defining membrane diffusion barriers at the base of Cilia ;  (2) how various membrane trafficking machineries, including exocyst tethering complex and Rabs, contribute to Ciliogenesis, mainly using cell biology, biochemistry and proximity-based tagging(called BioID).

Qualifications :
1. Ph.D. degree in one of the following majors; Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology.
2. Minimum of three years of postdoctoral training in prestigious US or European universities/research institutes.
3. Strong publication records in any area of basic cell biology, although applicants with membrane trafficking background will be preferred. 
4. Strong proven skills in fluorescent microscopy (i.e. live imaging) or advanced protein bio chemistry will be given preference.
5. Good communication and writing skill in English.
6. Salary level will be determined, based on qualification and research experiences.
