Position Description

The incumbent will be the main developer in-charge of the frontend part. You will work together with other software engineers on developing in-house web applications and products that serve the university's core academic needs. You will follow the industry's latest best practices and tools, adopt new technologies and operate under minimal supervision, managing the domain of front-end (client-side) development in the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Use his/her modern UI frameworks technologies knowledge and experience to design, develop, test, deploy, secure and improve front-end client-side code of the university's variety of web applications and products.

·Operate with autonomy in the front-end domain (both design part as well as client-side development).

·Collaborate with other team members' developers (Back-end, DevOps, Product) to complete end-to-end tasks, including given APIs and other tools to integrate with in order to complete your tasks.

·Support and maintain applications after go-live. Troubleshoots and resolves any system bugs.

·eva luate 3rd party tools and platforms when needed, to recommend the most suitable tools to integrate into the university solutions.

·Adopt best practices, maintain several development environments, source control, and follow other software development practices.

·Document the work and produce user guides and provide training for end users.

·Any other duties that are commensurate with the grade of the post.

Required Job Specifications

·Required qualification / academic degree: Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical hands-on experience.

·Required experience: At least 3 years of hands-on work experience in the front-end web development domain, using java script UI frameworks (such as React, Vue, Angular, etc.) to consume different APIs and develop a well-designed client-side application with the needed security (authentication & authorization) in place.

Required Job Competencies

·Language abili ty: Good communication skills in English (very good writing and reading. Sufficient speaking ability) are mandatory.

·Good understanding of the latest web standards of java script, HTML, and CSS for building responsive layouts on cross-browser and cross-device environments

·Experienced with and a good eye for web UI, UX design, including experience with common UI design tools such as Figma.

·Knowledge of Git source control, Agile methodology, Restful APIs, and familiarity with back-end languages such as C#, PHP, Python, etc.

·Knowledge of mobile development is an advantage.

·Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to details.

·Ability to work in an international institute, deliver guidance to Chinese as well as foreign students, faculty, and staff, and support their needs.
