ShanghaiTech University is a newly established research university located at Zhang-Jiang High-Tech Park in Pudong, Shanghai, the “Pharma Valley” of China. Currently, it has four schools and two advanced research institutes: School of Physical Science and Technology, School of Life Science and Technology, School of Information Science and Technology, School of Entrepreneurship and Management, Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies, and iHuman Institute with expected enrollment of 4,000 graduate and 2,000 undergraduate students. ShanghaiTech is jointly supported by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Municipal Government. ShanghaiTech aspires to be a globally recognized top research university for its integration of education, research and innovation by creating a dynamic hub where innovative research, education, and community service meet to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to learning and to solving problems faced by the society. We have enrolled 300 graduate students for the Fall of 2013 and 208 undergraduate and another 432 graduate students in the Fall of 2014. The University will build state of art research and teaching facilities. In addition, our faculty will have the access to research facilities and resources in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. School of Life Science and Technology (SLST) is currently seeking applications for multiple tenure-track and tenured positions at all ranks in the following academic disciplines: protein science and biotechnology; stem cell research and regenerative medicine; epigenetics, genomics, and systems biology; translational medicine; physical biology and molecular imaging; chemical biology and innovative pharmacology. The School provides internationally competitive start-up fund including support of Research Associates and Post-Doctoral fellows. Laboratory space will be provided to match the research needs. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Qualifications: The successful candidates should have an exceptional track record of research in life sciences or a closely related discipline within the last five years. Besides maintaining an active research program, the recruited candidates will be expected to contribute to the educational missions of undergraduate and graduate programs within SLST.
