Ningbo Supply Chain Innovation Institute China (NSCIIC) is an independent, degree-granting academic institution established as a joint initiative between the government of Ningbo, China, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The goal of the organization is to become a leader in the field of supply chain education and research. NSCIIC is the sixth such research center established by MIT's Center for Transportation and Logistics and the first of its kind in China. It is part of MIT's Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Network, which includes centers in Colombia, Spain, Luxembourg and Malaysia, in addition to MIT’s main campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. NSCIIC aims to become a major center for logistics and supply chain management research and education, actively collaborating with both industry leaders and the public sector to create and share knowledge. The center will offer graduate degrees, with its first batch of master’s students matriculating in the fall of 2017. The master's degree will be modeled after the MIT Supply Chain Management Program, which grants the Master of Engineering in Logistics degree. There are also plans for a doctoral degree program as well as a portfolio of professional courses for executives, reinforcing NSCIIC's connections to corporate partners. Job Outline
This role aims to assist the Director of the institute in the overall administrative work. By coordinating with administrative departments, this role is expected to provide strong leadership in creating and implementing short and long term strategies of the institute, and ultimately contributes to the development of the institute.
Job Requirement
• A Bachelor degree, preferably a MBA/CPA or related degree, from an accredited college or university, and at least eight to ten years of overall professional experience in administration management preferably in higher education or another large public organization is desirable

l Directs the Human Resource/Personnel function, including revisions of the employee policy handbook, performance appraisal, grievance procedures, discipline, policy and procedure development, benefits administration, payroll, position posting, screening and interviewing all candidates and per diem staffing requirements
l Oversees the IT Director in regards to the implementation of standards for computer operations and use, software support tools, system data backups, performance testing and security
l Oversees computer system support activities and resources required to provide quality computer operations, processing and application system resource management and availability
l Reviews preliminary concepts and ideas suggested by the Director, and develops statistical tools and models which eva luate these concepts in order to determine the appropriate course of action for NSCIIC. The development of these concepts will impact investigative procedures, policing activity and the public’s perception of the institution

As part of the research team, faculty members are responsible for creating, supporting, and disseminating new knowledge in logistics, supply chain management, and related fields. Faculty are expected to conduct high quality research in collaboration with industry and government; supervise theses; publish in top international journals, academic proceedings, trade journals, and working papers; and participate fully in all industrial and educational programs offered and supported by the MIT Global SCALE centers.
Faculty members are expected to work with and be in regular contact with researchers, educators, and thought leaders (academic and practitioner) across the world, including researchers at MIT and the international MIT Global SCALE Network centers.
