设计任务:阅读下面信息,设计一节英语听说课教学方案,无固定格式,但必须含以下要点:teaching objectives 、teaching contents、key and difficult points、major steps and time allocation 、activities and justifications

教学时间:45分钟,学生概况:某城镇普通中学八年级(初二)学生,班级人数40人,多数学生已达到《义务教育英语课程标准(2011年版)》三级水平。学生课堂参与积极性一般。

语言素材:

Grace: What did you do in class day, Sarah?

Sarah: We had a discussion about TV shows. My classmates like game shows and sports shows.

Grace: Oh,I can’t stand them. I love soap operas. I like to follow the story and see what happens next.

Sarah: Well, I don’t mind soap operas, but my favorite TV shows are the news and talk shows.

Grace: They’re boring.

Sarah: Well, they may not be very exciting but you can expect to learn a lot from them. I hope to be a TV reporter one day.

Class type: Listening and speaking class

1. Students are able to master the following words: soap operas, discussion, stand, news, expect.

2. Students are able to use the following expressions: I can’t stand…; I don’t mind…; I hope to…, and so on.

Ability aims:

Through the study of this period:

1. Students are able to use listening skills to comprehend dialogues and passages.

2. Students’ speaking skills can be enhanced.

Emotional aims:

1. Through this period, students can learn how to talk about preferences and make plans.

2. Students can know more about TV shows and how to express their own attitude.

Teaching key points:

1. To train students’ ability of grasping details of the dialogue and catching key words by listening

2. Students can talk about preferences and express their likes and dislikes:

I like…/I love…/I don’t mind…

I don’t like…/I can’t stand…

Teaching difficult points:

1. Improve students’ listening ability, especially the ability of catching key words.

2. Improve students’ speaking skills by practice.

1. Task-based teaching method.

2. Audio-visual teaching method.

Teaching Aid: Multi-media

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead–in (4mins)

1. Greeting!

2. Play a video to show different types of famous TV shows which are referred in the listening materials: soap opera, sports show, talk show, news, cartoon, and so on.

(Justification: Create an interesting atmosphere and attract students’ attention to get students to combine English learning with daily life. Also, it’s easy for them to say something concerning their life.)

Step 2 Pre-listening (4mins)

1. Ask question:

Q: Could you tell me the English name of these famous TV shows?

2. Let two students tell their answers, and the teacher shows the right answer.

(Justification: This is a kind of “brain storm”, it can make class more vivid and it is also a preparation process for the following contents.)

Step 3 While-listening (24mins)

1. Extensive listening (6mins):

Listen to the whole passage extensively twice and answer the following two questions accordingly.

Q1: What do they mainly talk about?

Q2: How many kinds of TV shows appear in this dialogue?

(Justification: Help students understand this passage easily and practice their listening ability; help teacher get to know the students’ listening ability.)

2. Intensive listening (18mins):

a. Listen to the passage and answer these questions (7mins).

Q1: List all the TV shows that are referred in this dialogue.

Q2: What’s Grace’s favorite TV show?

Q3: What does Sarah hope to be one day?

(Justification: Train students’ listening ability of searching detailed information in the passage.)

b. Listen to the tape again and fill the blanks to complete the dialogue (5mins).

(Justification: Train students’ listening skills and thinking ability.)

c. Let students read the dialogue loudly by following the tape, and then let students read again in roles (boys act Grace and girls act Sarah)(6mins).

(Justification: Train students’ reading and speaking ability, built up their confidence and it is also good for developing their conciseness of competition.)

Step 4 Post-listening (8mins)

Role-play

Ask students to make dialogue with their partners according to the listening materials. Then several of them will be invited to role-play their dialogues to the class.

(Justification: Students act out the d ialogue in their own way, which helps to consolidate what they learn in this period and makes the class more interesting.)

Step 5 Summary and Homework (5mins)

1. Teacher makes a clear summary of this class with students.

2. Homework:

a. Write an article to introduce one of the most popular TV shows of China, we will share them on the next lesson.

b. Preview the next lesson.

(Justification: Consolidate what they learned in class and improve their writing ability.)
