GM China & GMI Finance supports every facet of perse business portfolio by designing and implementing timely business solutions based on in-depth analysis, business acumen, and sensitivity to external factors. Corporate Finance Analysts are expected to help solve critical issues for the company.

Finance Summer Internship

GM China & GMI Finance 2018 Internship program, Exploring Career through Experiential Learning (“EXCEL”), offers challenging assignments by groups such as Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”), Controllership, Treasury, Product Development Finance, Manufacturing Finance and Corporate Audit Services. Some examples of past internship projects are China auto industry price trend analysis, Manufacturing Cost Benchmarking Analysis for plant productivity Improvement.  All assignments require high concentration of independent judgments, decision-making, accuracy, creativity, and initiative. Key components of the internship program are as follows:

·         70% Professional and Technical Skills

o    Challenging projects in real business context

o    Developing profitable business solutions Influencing skills

o    Team engagement, being a good team player

·         20% Interpersonal and Communication Skills

o    Presentations to senior managers and directors

o    Experience sharing by senior executives

o    Regular performance review and feedback by peers and direct-report managers

·         10% Trainings and Others

o    Finance functional / cross-functional learning sessions

o    Career panel discussion with directors

o    Plant tour

All assignments will be at GM China HQ in Shanghai, China. Internship will last for approximately 9 weeks, from June 18th to August 17th, 2018.

Opportunity to Join GM After Graduation

High performance interns will receive a full-time offer to join GM’s fast-track rotational program of Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge Program (“TRACK”).

General Qualification:

·         Finance, economics, accounting, engineering or equivalent background are preferred, with coursework in finance, accounting and/or business

·         Expected to graduate from December 2018 to June 2019

·         Professional spoken and written communication skills in English and Chinese

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills and organizational abilities

·         Good teamwork and interpersonal skills

·         Self-confidence and motivation to strive for excellence

·         Results driven and highly spontaneous

·         Chinese citizenship is required
