肇庆市华师大光电产业研究院（以下简称产研院）是肇庆市人民政府与华南师范大学共同成立的研发机构。根据产研院科研布局和纳米材料和器件项目发展需要，现面向全球诚聘海内外博士后科研人员。此项目由团队带头人Michael Giersig教授（柏林自由大学物理学教授），首席研究员Paul Mulvaney教授（英国化学学会学士，澳大利亚科学院化学部的主任，澳大利亚墨尔本大学终身教授，参见www.excitonscience.com）和Michael J. Naughton教授（美国波士顿学院物理系教授）和Alexander V. Henzen教授（华南师范大学）领导。

职位
作为团队的准候选者，您将参与开发可用于多色反射式显示设备（“Kindle型”）的粒子研究，然后进行优化并将其集成到设备单元条件中。作为一名积极主动且具有团队合作精神的专业人士，您将在敬业资深的团队成员指导下和学生推进该项目。 我们期望除了获得项目下的知识产权发展之外，科学成果还将在高影响力的期刊上发表。

•多次在同行评审期刊或者在相关科学会议上出版或者发表创造性研究
•优秀的英文书面和口头沟通技巧

International Postdoc Opportunity:  Nanomaterials for Multicolour Reflective Display Devices

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support our Nanomaterials and Devices project at our new laboratories in Zhaoqing & Guangzhou, Guangdong, P. R. China under the auspices of South China Normal University (SCNU). The project is led by Prof. Michael Giersig (primary appointment: Professor of Physics, Freie University of Berlin), with co-principal investigators Prof. Paul Mulvaney (primary appointment: Professor of Chemistry and Director, ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science, University of Melbourne – see www.excitonscience.com) and Prof. Michael J. Naughton (primary appointment: Professor of Physics, Boston College), and collaborator Prof. Alexander V. Henzen (SCNU).
Position:
As the successful candidate, you will develop particles that can be used in a multicolour reflective display device ("Kindle-type", that are then to be optimized and integrated in device cell conditions. As a proactive and team-minded professional you will push the project forward with guidance of the dedicated senior team members and students under your supervision. We expect that in addition to the development of IP under the project, that scientific results will be published in high impact journals.
In particular, expertise is sought in one or more of the following areas:
•        Micro/nanofabrication
•        Colloid synthesis
•        Microfluidics
•        Electrophoresis
•        Device integration
•        Optical / electrical /mechanical characterization and spectroscopy
Major duties and responsibilities:
•        Synthesis and optimization of composite microfluidic droplets
•        Optimization of the colour contrast in an electrophoretic display cell.
•        Characterisation using advanced fabrication, microscopic, and spectroscopic tools
•        Promotion of effective coordination with collaborators and senior researcher.
•        Presentation and reporting of research results and publication of scientific results in peer-reviewed journals in a timely manner
•        Ensuring compliance with environment, safety, health and quality program requirements
•        Maintenance of strong dedication to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics
Basic qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred qualifications:
•        Background in materials science, materials chemistry, materials physics
•        Familiarity with colloid synthesis, microfluidics and electrophoresis
•        Familiarity with electronic and/or optical characterization techniques
•        Strong record of productive and creative research proven by publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences
•        Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in English to an international scientific audience
•        Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative and frequently interacting team of researchers
•        Ability to function well in a dynamic research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever-changing needs
Applicants should preferably have received their Ph.D. not more than five years prior to the date of application and must complete all degree requirements before starting their appointment. The appointment length will be up to 3 years with the potential for extension, which is subject to performance and availability of funding. The position is open now until filled. A starting date as soon as possible is aspired.
Salary:
The salary is 240k RMB/year pre-tax. A negotiable annual bonus is available, dependent on performance.

Reasonable relocation costs will be reimbursed and the basic rent of an apartment in the institute’s teacher dormitories will be waived.
