　　Brief Description            

　　The Senior Analytical Chemist is responsible for supporting the Quality Control of all small molecule weight drugs made at GIBH for the purpose of achieving discovery goals.  

　　Detailed Description            

　　To perform this job successfully, an inpidual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

　　Support management of the Quality Control Analytical Laboratory to ensure compliance with GIBH policies and procedures along with GLP and OSHA requirements. 

　　· Performs instrumental (i.e., UV vis, HPLC, FTIR, DSC) and wet chemistry techniques/analyses. 

　　· Assist with test method validation, transfer, implementation, and execution. 

　　· Performs peer-review of laboratory (and related) work, as well as general review of laboratory work. 

　　· Maintain GMP/GLP laboratory notebooks and documentation relevant to the duties and responsibilities assigned. 

　　· Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during physical and chemical characterization 

　　· Revise test method procedures and specifications for the Analytical Laboratory 

　　· Assist in preparing, participating in FDA audits 

　　· Demonstrate excellent organizational skills in collecting data and maintaining a database 

　　· Demonstrate excellent communication with department and management, including presentations to  QC lab representative in cross departmental meetings 

　　Job Requirements          

　　The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. 

　　·MS or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering or closely related degree and 7-10 years of related experience. 

　　·Working knowledge of standard laboratory practices and safety. 

　　·Experience in working with analytical instruments including gas chromatograph, liquid chromatograph, UV-Vis and FT-IR spectrometers, other analytical techniques and mechanical testing equipment is desirable. 

　　·Experience with Microsoft Office software to create reports, spreadsheets, analyze data and prepare presentations required.
